There are currently only two shoes in the Mavic range, both of them clipless for road use: the Race and the Sprint models with a couple of variations in specification. Prices range from around £45 up to a top price of £160.

Another common pedal in use is the Mavic Race with modelsl such as the Mavic Race Pedal starting at around £75 with the higher price bracket at around £160 for the Mavic Race SL TI Road Pedals.

There are 2 models under the Mavic Race pedal category, one at a mid-price and one top lightweight model for serious racers.

The base model comprises an aluminium body with composite rear plate and friction plate in a lightweight pedal for road racers, with a good cleat contact area, using sealed QRM cartridge bearings for durability and efficiency.

The pedals are easy to use and adjustable with a release tension between 80 to 200 kg/cm force, with an option of 0 degrees or 7 degrees angular float Mavic DuraCleats.

The Mavic Race pedal also feature the Energy Transfer System with a wide cleat/pedal contact area for maximum power transfer and a Cromoly axle.

Weight comes in at 130 grams per pedal.

For an ultra lightweight pedal you can select the Race SL Ti version, which uses a Titanium axle and an additional cartridge needle bearing to even out load distribution. This pedal only weighs 110g. The rest of the specification is the same as for the base model.

Mavic Sprint Pedals

This is Mavic's entry level road pedal, giving reliable performance and using many of the features of the more expensive models.

The Mavic Sprint body is fully aluminium, with composite rear and friction plates, giving a weight of 145g per pedal.

Release tension can be varied between 80 and 200 kg per cm and there is the option of using a 0 degrees or 7 degrees angular float DuraCleat.

Like the higher models, this uses sealed QRM cartridge bearings, a Cromoly axle and features a wide cleat to shoe contact area, with wear resistant zones around the cleats to keep the locking system working effectively.
